Grand Designs Australia magazine launch

Last night I was fortunate enough to attend the Grand Design's magazine launch, and launch to their grand design showcase weekend this weekend and the Melbourne exhibition center. It was a beautiful venue overlooking the city on one side and the serene lake on the other. The room was filled with inspiring people and delicious canapes I must admit! I'm looking forward to flicking through the pages of this months magazine and will most likely get some inspiration as well as motivation for my blogging, as well as my VCE folio work.

This is the outfit I wore to the event

I've been waiting patiently to find the most suitable time to wear this new skirt out I ordered from ASOS and this was the perfect event! The heels I wore were beautiful but horribly painful and I'm contemplating whether I can even wear them again, maybe at outings where standing is at bare minimum.

Leather tee - Topshop
Metal cap heels - Tony Bianco
Green silk baloon skirt - ASOS

Prospect 360 fashion media seminar

Last night I signed up for a seminar at the well-known Whitehouse institute of design - where there was a panel of 5 much respected women in the corporate fashion world. I sign up to these things primarily for motivation in what I most love to do and for my passion with design and fashion and it definitely motivated and inspired me to go further and keep persisting. On the panel was the Melbourne fashion blogger Phoebe Montague from the blog 'Lady Melbourne', Kate Gaskin who was a freelance stylist, Kim Wilson who was a fashion journalist for the daily age and Sarah Gale who was a publicist at AMPR public relations company. Each person told their stories which was great to hear from people of all walks of life because it reassured me that not everything comes so easy at all and what you think you may be doing in 10 years is most likely completely different to what you will actually be persuing or working as. I recommend anyone who aspires to be in a certain fashion, art, design or media profession to attent one of Prospect 360's seminars because it is highly valuable.

Behind the scenes at LMFF

A few of the pictures I took from LMFF last month that I just received and was anxiously waiting for. Yes, I got to photograph Rachel Rutt which was the highlight of the time in the makeup room. I was fortunate to capture a glimpse of what goes on behind the works for you which is more surprising and unexpected then you could ever imagine. Now whenever I look at a photo or watch a fashion show I have deep thoughts about what goes on behind the scenes, and it's all because of this experience.

Here are the few other pictures as an extension from my original Rumi Neely post. They were taken by an amazing photography go check out his blog BRIANSTORM.
And yes I am aware of how creepy the photo of my deeply looking into the lens but admittingly I was not aware I was even staring into the lens and I have no recollection of this haha.

Rumi for Myer

More photos to come from event, and pictures with her and I.

Today I was fortunate enough to have the chance of meeting and merely having 'dnm's with Rumi Neely. She is someone I undeniably look up to and have been for a few years now. I have gotten to see her blog Fashiontoast evolve and it has been an experience watching her personal style gradually change and go in a loop. She said some pretty meaningful things at the Myer interview today it the basement - words I will definitely go home with and remember regardless of whether she knew how much they'd have an effect on me. She gave some valuable advice like to never follow trends because your just cloning everyone else. Be unique and prove your sense of style and individuality to the world. I think that people are indenial most of the time about being 'themselves' when honestly I think they're having trouble coping to conform to the liking's of everybody else. Leaving today's appearance I feel more inspired about my blog.

For those who haven't met Rumi, she is undoubtedly the most down to earth person I have met. She's fun and knows how to be cheesy, if that kind of makes sense? My friends Rebekah, Darlin and I waited around anxiously for her to come back out after her initial appearance and got to have a third talk to her. It was stress free until an anxious big ass body guard booted her out of out convo. The conversation was more friendly and non restrained than 'corporate'. She unhesitantly partook in some selfies and agreed to coming back to Melbourne with Bryan (inward joyous moment). She then agreed to take a look at my blog so Rumi, if you are reading this HEY GIRL!
